  • U.S. authorities have seized approximately 145 domains associated with the BidenCash darknet marketplace
  • The Department of Justice has confiscated cryptocurrency funds tied to the platform’s illicit activities
  • BidenCash has facilitated the sale of over 15 million stolen payment card numbers since its inception in March 2022

U.S. law enforcement agencies have dismantled the BidenCash marketplace, a platform notorious for trafficking stolen credit card data and personal information, and seized about 145 internet domains and cryptocurrency assets linked to the site’s illegal transactions. Since its launch in March 2022, BidenCash has been instrumental in the sale of more than 15 million compromised payment card details, generating over $17 million in revenue. More than 117,000 people used the platform, whose takedown was the result of a coordinated international effort.

A Haven for Stolen Data

BidenCash carved out a spot for itself on the dark web by making it easy to buy and sell stolen credit card numbers and personal information. It quickly drew in over 117,000 users, many of whom used the site to trade hacked login credentials or access to compromised systems.

In a bid to grow its user base even faster, the site gave away a staggering 3.3 million stolen credit card records for free over several months between late 2022 and early 2023—a bold move that effectively served as advertising to other cybercriminals.

Infrastructure Taken Down and Crypto Seized

The takedown wasn’t just a lucky break; it was the result of a months-long, coordinated effort involving the U.S. Secret Service, the FBI, and law enforcement agencies in Europe. Teams from the Secret Service’s Frankfurt office, the FBI’s Albuquerque field office, and cybercrime specialists from the Netherlands all played a part, moving to seize 145 domains and redirect them to law enforcement servers, cutting off access for users trying to reach the marketplace.

Authorities also secured a court order to freeze crypto wallets connected to BidenCash’s operations, although the amount taken has not been revealed. Officials said the action sends a strong message that they’re going after not just the platforms, but the money fueling them. Even so, security experts aren’t celebrating just yet, with warnings issued that fragments of the BidenCash network are still online, with a few domains reportedly active. This is not unusual in such takedowns—darknet markets are notoriously hard to wipe out completely, and their operators often try to reboot under different names.
